Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

I'm not sure what type of media format I have?
Please use our Video Media Guide or give us a call.

What is the difference between a Conversion and a Duplication?
A Conversion is when we change a format such as NTSC to PAL. Usually this means you need to view a tape sent from overseas, or need to send a tape to a foreign country

How long does it take you to copy a video tape?
Most orders will be copied and shipped the same or next day.

I don’t know what the format is that the country I’m sending the video to uses? How can I tell?
Don’t worry, just select the country you are sending it to and it will automatically tell you if it needs to be converted or not.

Are plastic sleeves and labels included?
Yes, labels and plastic sleeves are included. If you require anything special such as a hardcover case or a full colour label, please use our custom quote.

What brand and quality of tape do you use?
We use only BASF premium grade back coated videotapes.

Can you make copies from a tape that was recorded at the slow speed?
Yes, however the faster the speed, the better the quality.

Will you make any changes to my videotape before converting?
Unless otherwise noted in writing, all master tapes are run as is.

I'm not sure what length program I have?
The length of a tape is usually stamped on the side of the tape. Tape length is in minutes - such as "180" - would mean a 3 hour tape ( 60 minutes x 3hours = 180minutes ).  If you have a tape, for example, a 120 minute tape (2 hours) and only have about 60 minutes of video on it (but you're not too sure) it is better to use the length stamped on the tape.
