| Frequently
Asked Questions (FAQs)
I'm not sure what
type of media format I have?
Please use our Video
Media Guide or give us a call.
What is the process
of transferring film?
The film is
transferred into digital format and onto our video
editing computer. This allows us to join the footage
and remove any distorted or black segments. Then we
run copies to a MiniDV Master (for your storage) and
to the number of VHS copies you've requested.
How long will it take?
Usually 5 to 10 business days. Quicker service is
available; just let us know your deadline.
Are plastic sleeves
and labels included?
Yes, plastic
sleeves and labels are included. If you require anything special such as a hardcover case or a full colour label, please use our
custom quote.
What about
blank, black, clear, or dark sections of film?
We will edit out any clear or black footage from your
film.
Some of our film is out
of focus and we have some sections with very shaky
camera-work
It is our
policy to transfer all exposed footage including shaky
camera work and out of focus film.
Will we get
our old film back?
Yes we send your originals back to you with the
completed job, via registered post.
How do we organize our
film?
We can transfer
it in random order or we can transfer it in
chronological order if you number your reels or
boxes.
Make sure you number them clearly.
How can I tell if the
film I have is silent or has sound on it?
We always check
if it has sound or not. Film with a brown strip
down the side has magnetic sound or if there is a
blank\clear strip it may be optical. Magnetic strips
are more common than optical.
